The Dictionary of Irish Biography (DIB) is an authoritative and invaluable national resource. To support collaboration in digital humanities and the movement toward open access teaching and learning environments at all levels, DIB entries can be shared in line with Creative Commons ‘Attribution’ (CC BY) licencing.
DIB entries can be copied or adapted and redistributed in any medium or format. We simply ask that appropriate credit is given to the author of the entry and to the Dictionary of Irish Biography, that a link is provided to the licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode) and to the source material on dib.ie if possible, and that you please indicate if any changes were made to the material.
You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the licence permits.
Unless an endorsement is explicitly given by the DIB, you should not suggest it endorses you or your use of its materials.
If you have an idea for a collaborative venture with the DIB, please contact us and provide a detailed outline of your proposed project.
